TAKE ACTION - Tell France to stop blocking human rights
Human rights monitoring is urgently needed in Western Sahara. MINURSO, the UN mission in Western Sahara, is the only contemporary UN peacekeeping mission in the world without a mandate to monitor human rights.
Last year France was the only country to block the introduction of human rights monitoring in Western Sahara.
This month the UN will renew MINURSO's mandate. We must make it clear that France's opposition to human rights is unacceptable. The Security Council must mandate MINURSO to monitor human rights as a matter of urgency.
